🧩 Mixed / Caselet DI

1 exam question type, fully solved

Mixed / caselet DI hides the data inside a short paragraph, or splits it across a table AND a chart. It looks scarier than it is — the trick is to pull the numbers out into your own mini-table first.

Extract first, then it is ordinary DI

• Jot the data: read slowly and write each number next to its label. Once it is in a small grid, it is just a normal table question.

• Watch the base of every percent: “25% of the boys” is 25% of the boys, not of everyone. Each percent sits on its own group: , .

• Shared total: when two sets split one total, find that total once and reuse it for both parts.

• “In good condition / remaining”: go straight to the surviving percent — — instead of finding the part and subtracting.

Caselets bury the data in sentences or split it across two sets. Pull the numbers into your own mini-table and watch the base of every percent.

How to solve this type

- Read slowly and jot each number with its label.
- Watch the BASE of every percent: “20% of the men” is 20% of the men, not of everyone.
- When two sets share a total, find that total once and reuse it for both.
